Bacon Roses – Maria Mind Body Health

Today is our 19th wedding anniversary so I thought I would make a fun bouquet of Bacon Roses for celebrating!

I can’t believe it has been 18 years since our wedding! We have been through so much together. I feel blessed to have such a generous, kind man as my husband. Craig is the most amazing father to our precious boys. He is a patient home schooling dad who teaches with passion and love. He puts up with my crazy adventures even though he may be tired and weak due to his illness but he puts on a smile and always does his best despite my outrageous ideas. I am a very lucky woman to have found such a man when I was only 17 years old.

 

When we were engaged we read, The 5 Love Languages, which was the most helpful book to understand how to feed the proper love to all the people close in my life. Craig’s love language is personal touch. My love language is not gifts, it is quality time. I’m not one to ask for real roses on anniversaries or Valentine’s Day but I do love it when Craig helps me make fun

Cooking wings in the air fryer can be so delicious, you will never miss oil fried chicken wings again! The trick is to start at a lower temperature such as 375 degrees F for 25 minutes and making sure to flip halfway through. The lower temperature allows the fat under the skin to gradually break apart. After the fat is broken apart, increase temp to 400 degrees F and cook for another 6-8 minutes to add that delicious crispy skin. You end up with a tender inside and a crunchy outside!

How to Improve Sleep in the Summer and BluBlox Sale!

Are you having trouble losing weight or are you having high morning blood sugar despite eating keto? Too often I see clients that are doing everything right for weight loss except they are ignoring the importance of quality sleep.

Summertime can be challenging when it comes to sleep. Longer days with more sunlight are great for activities and getting outside, but it can also interfere with our sleep. Especially in northern climates like we are in Wisconsin, it doesn’t get dark until after 9PM and is getting light out at 5AM. Add to that all the summer activities and your sleep could suffer.

I usually put my BluBlox glasses on around 5pm. Yep, 5pm! It is best to stop blocking all the blue light about 2-3 hours before bedtime to allow the body to naturally produce melatonin. Keto Strawberry Shortcake – Maria Mind Body Health

I like to make everyday a little special. It doesn’t have to cost money or be a big event to be special. It is sometimes as simple as spending an hour fishing with my boys, hiking in the woods for “dinosaur bones” or celebrating National food holidays! My boys LOVE strawberries and since June 14th is National Strawberry Shortcake Day I thought celebrating with this for breakfast would be fun!

I also made Strawberry Shortcake with my biscuits that everyone loves (which you can find HERE) . It is delicious! But the thing that I LOVE about using my angel food cake for making Strawberry Shortcake is that there are no nut flours used so it keeps the total carbs very low.

Keto Strawberry Shortcake

 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Sift egg white protein and confectioners Swerve together and set aside. In a large clean bowl, whip egg whites with a pinch of salt until foamy (save the yolks for “healthified” creme brule, “healthified” coconut custard, OR “healthified” ice cream). Add cream of tartar and continue to beat until very stiff (you will be able to put bowl upside down and the whites won’t fall out).
