I’ve lost 74 pounds in 10 months doing Keto and following @blackketogirl. I feel like a new person, and I’m so happy! I have more to lose, but I’m so glad that I started and have gotten this far.

I started my journey after a good friend of mine lost weight. I said, “If she can do it, I can do it.” and I started on a random Wednesday. I didn’t prepare for it. I just jumped right into no carbs (only from veggies) or sugar and a gallon of water a day.

In the past, I would always start trying to lose weight but wouldn’t get far because my mind wasn’t ready. Once I let go of the things I couldn’t change, I started focusing on what I could change and became happy. Your mental is #1 in weight loss. If you change that

My Nonsurgical, Natural, Weight Loss Journey: I’ve been struggling with being overweight for most of my life. Since the age of 10, my weight steadily increased. Into my teens and throughout my adult life, I was obese.

I became a Registered Nurse and dedicated my career to improving other people’s health while struggling to improve my own. Before I knew it, I was turning 49. I promised myself that my next 50 years would be better than the past. I knew I had to make a healthy change.

My motivations were a heart to heart conversation with my daughter and the memory of my Mother.

The conversation with my daughter made me think deeply about the impact that my unhealthy lifestyle and potential early demise would have on her as an only child.

In retrospect, I realize that my mom, who was also a nurse, sacrificed her

I’m a mother of four, and I gained most of my weight after pregnancy. I was nursing and eating whatever the children didn’t finish because I didn’t want to waste food.

I started Keto on Jan 17, 2018, after my youngest daughter’s birthday. I took family pictures and didn’t even post them on social media because I couldn’t even recognize who that person was anymore. I made a promise to myself that I would give myself three months before I thought about quitting or cheating. It took Jesus three days to come back from the dead, and He was perfect! Since I’m nowhere near as perfect as Him, three months was an ideal place to start.

I lost 30 lbs in those three months. Since then, I’ve never looked back! Overall, I’ve lost 83 pounds and have kept it off for 8 months! I have decided to make Keto my permanent way of eating
