I’ve been a very loyal Gold’s customer for almost ten years. I got in on an awesome promotional price and I’ve rode it for so long. I am the type of customer that gyms hate- I got in a great monthly rate and I use the facilities all the time (or pre-COVID).
But time has come and I have to move on. I work out very early in the morning and I just took another job so the closest Gold’s (which already wasn’t super close after they closed my main one) just isn’t going to work anymore. Added to my apprehensions about Covid and gyms and I’ve been piece mealing a home gym. I also will have access to equipment at my new job.
But trying to cancel my membership has been insanity.
They won’t answer the phone at my “home” Gold’s even though they are supposed to be limited opening. They haven’t responded to my email request. Home office sent me to the local home gym. It’s been absolutely ridiculous and I shouldn’t have to spend a week trying to cancel a freakin’ membership even in Covid limited capacity.
If I don’t get a response soon, I am going to contact my credit card company and just cancel it through a dispute.
I had heard horror stories about Gold’s but my original home Gold’s was always so awesome. After it closed, the second runner up was definitely a step down but I hung on.
I now am understanding the grief.
Anyone else having this issue?
